In 1822 George Howard and his three sons became the first white settlers in Gilead, now the village of Grand Rapids. The Edward Howard, a Colonial style room, is the largest room, furnished with a king size bed, a four season fireplace, private bath, as well as a sitting area. The room also includes cable TV and a DVD player. The walls are hand painted with sunflowers and straw flowers.
